On October 1st I spent the whole day hiking the Great Wall! It was a huge debate on which part of the wall to visit and eventually the girls and I decided (aka we took the wrong bus and had no choice) on the Jinshanling section! I’m actually really glad that it worked out that way because we had a gorgeous view and the wall was hardly crowded (while the sections were shoulder-to-shoulder packed). We hiked 15 km of the wall, which took about five hours to complete (lots of picture taking included). Most of the way was just steps—some over a foot tall. It was a bit difficult, but definitely worth it. The Great Wall was just incredible beyond words.
