Huangshan

huangshan
Huangshan or the Yellow Mountains are one of the most famous mountains in China. When I first decided to come to China these mountains were some of the first things I wanted to see so I made sure we had a chance to see them. The weather forecast said it was going to be rainy, foggy, and cold, but I really wanted to see it so we went anyway. We didn’t have a ton of time to visit so we made it a weekend vacation. Alysa, Whitney, Leah and I took a night train on Friday November 2nd, hiked the mountain all Saturday, and then took a another night train back.  It actually turned out to be a clear, warm day and I have never seen more beautiful mountains!!

We didn’t have time to hike up and down the whole mountain so we just took cable cars and hiked around the tops of the mountains.

All over the mountains there were these guys carrying these huge loads of food, supplies, and even people. The mountains were difficult to climb as it was—I can’t imagine how these guys could carry hundred of pounds up them. Crazy!

There were locks all over the mountains so I bought two—one for my parents and one for the other girls and I.
